Writes a message to the console with the visual "error" icon and red background and a hyperlink to the line where it was called.

The log also includes the stack trace of the error in case the Console panel option Show Stack Trace With Errors is enabled.

Syntax[edit]

console.error(object[, object, ...])

Parameters[edit]

object[edit]

Object to output in the console. This can be any kind of object. The first argument to log may be a string containing printf-like string substitution patterns. The complete list of patterns can be seen at console.log.

Examples[edit]

console.error("This is some error message.");

This prints Error.png This is some error message. to the console.
